Good Morning Parents,

1. Super Happy Fun Day and Picnic Information- June 13th

Here is the schedule for our last day of school.  Please plan on joining your son/daughter for these events. 

Inflatables Schedule 

8:00-10:15 - K-2 on inflatables

10:15-12:30 - 3-5 on inflatables

12:30-2:00 - Middle School on inflatables

2:00-3:00 - High School on inflatables


All grades will eat lunch at their regular scheduled time that day. K-5 students will not be allowed outside for recess so please keep them indoors that day. 

Picnic Schedule

1:30 - High School students eat first

After HS has their food we will start with K-3 building, then 4-5 classes, then middle school classes and dismiss two at a time to come out to eat.

**** All Students are allowed to leave anytime after 1:30 as long as they check in with the teacher that is in charge of them at this time*** 

2.  Report Cards-

The final report cards for the third Trimester will be sent home the week of June 19th for ALL students in K-12.  

3.  Walt Kimsey Earns Special ASBDA Honor-

The American School Band Directors' Association is proud to commend Merritt Academy on the acceptance of Walter Kimsey into membership in the ASBDA.  Members of the ASBDA must be nominated and sponsored by a peer who is a current member.  Members must demonstrate a high level of experience, excellent moral character, and quality of musicianship.  Congratulations to Walt for his obvious support of excellence and commitment to out band programs!!!!

4.  Picking up Medicine From Office-

If your child has medicine in the office please pick it up from Amy by 3:00 on Wednesday, June 14th.  

5.  Merritt Academy Summer Hours-

Merritt Academy will be open during the summer.  Our summer hours will be Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. to noon and begin on June 15th.  We will be closed the week of July 3rd.  Starting the week of August 7th we will be open 9:00-2:00.  

***  Uniform/Paperwork day will be August 3rd from 9:00-6:00.  ***

***  Save your box tops as we WILL be doing box tops for uniforms again in August***

6.  Parent Incentives

Please read the attached flier that explains what Merritt parents can do to help our 2017-2018 enrollment and what incentives are attached to doing this.  Also attached is a flier for 2017-2018 for prospective families that includes dates of upcoming parent information meetings and tours.

7.  Summer Reading Opportunity-

Reading is an essential part of education.  It is important to keep kids reading over the summer months.  Attached is a flyer that contains a lot of valuable information about free on-line resources for students of all ages.  We hope several of our families will take advantage of this wonderful resource.

8.   Athletics-

Spring Banquet-  Monday, June 12th 6:00 p.m.
