October-  Bully Prevention Month

27- Trunk or Treat 

1.   Early Release-

There will be an early release day on Wednesday, October 18th at 2:00.  Please make arrangements for you child to get picked up at this time.  There will be an early release bus schedule handed out before this early release day.

2.   TRG Color Run-

The Romine Group is hosting a Color Run on Bell Isle on Saturday, November 11th from 10:00-3:00.  Please read the attached fliers for more information on this exciting event!  We already have a few staff members that have committed to participating in this and e hope to see some Merritt families participate in this as well!   

3.   Parent Teacher Conferences October 12th and 13th

Parent/teacher conferences will be October 12th and 13th from 3:30-6:30 p.m.    K-5 teachers will be posting a sign-up sheet outside of their classrooms before school on Friday September 29th.    Please make sure to come in and sign up for a conference time.

For students in 6th-12th grades conferences are on a walk-in first come basis.  Progress reports for students in 6th-12th grades can be picked up in the main office located in the high school.

Parent/teacher conferences are an important time to discuss your child's progress so far this trimester.  It is important that you make sure you are on time for your conference.  Each parent is scheduled for 15 minutes.    Please keep this is mind when you are conferencing with the teacher.

4.   Book Fair Volunteers-

Merritt Academy is in need of book fair volunteers to help set up/take down fair, collect money, and help the students pick out books.  The book fair is scheduled for the week of October 23rd . If interested contact Mr. Seiferlein or Ms. Cohrs for more details. 

5.   Saginaw Valley State Student Directory Opt-Out-

Please read through the attached documents from SVSU and follow the directions contained in the documents if you want your child to be opted out of being in this directory.
