Shopping days for the students will be Thursday, December 14th and Friday, December 15th. Parent volunteers, high school students, and staff will be helping your child choose and wrap their gifts. All gifts this year are between $1.00- $2.00. If you want to come in and shop with your child, you can come to the library after school either day from 3:15-4:00. This after school session is open to ALL Merritt students Pre School through 12th grade.

Breakfast With Santa (Preschool-Fifth)
On Thursday, December 21st from 7:00-7:45, please join us for Breakfast with Santa in the cafeteria. The breakfast will consist of a variety of breakfast breads and juice. Merritt Academy preschool through fifth grade students will have the opportunity to meet Santa and get a picture taken with him. All this is free of charge. These pictures will be delivered to your child later that day. Please plan on taking the time out of your busy holiday schedule to join us.

The Giving Tree
There are many local families in need this holiday season, and we would like to help. A Giving Tree has been placed in the school office. Take an ornament hung on the tree with a suggested donation. Return the unwrapped donation with ornament and place under the tree. Other suggested items to donate are slippers, toiletries, snacks, crayons, and coloring books; however, any thoughtful donation is appreciated.
If you are not able to come to the school office yourself, you may send your donation/gift to school with a student. Please mark "Giving Tree" on it so we can make sure it goes to the proper place.

Donations will be accepted until December 15th. There will be a $1.00 dress-down date on December 13th to help purchase additional items for the Giving Tree. This dress down day's theme will be pajamas and we are asking for non-perishable food items be donated on this day as well. We appreciate your support!

Winterguard Christmas Shopping Fundraiser
Have you ever needed time away from your children to do your last minute Christmas shopping? Well, this is the perfect opportunity to do just that. On Deccember 21st from 5:00-8:00 Coach Vanderkarr and the girls of Merritt Academy's Winterguard team will be located in Merrit Academy's high school. They will have holiday games, crafts, and fun planned to keep your child entertained while you go do your Christmas shopping. There is even a Merritt Academy girls' varsity basketball game here that night at 6:00 that your child can go watch if they want to. Pizza and juice will be served for dinner. The cost for this is $20.00 per student and all proceeds go toward Merritt Academy's Winterguard team to pay membership dues, tournament fees, and purchase equipment. Watch for a flier and permission slip to come out in an e mail blast and be sent home with your child in the days to come. Pre school -5th grade is invited to participate in this.
