1. A Letter From the Village President!

Please read the attached e mail Merritt Academy received from the village president, Chris Dilbert congratulating us on our recent test scores!

2. Parent/Teacher Conferences Oct. 10th & 11th

Parent Teacher Conferences are October 10th and 11th from 3:30-6:30. Letters went out yesterday. Elementary parents please sign up for a time outside of your child's classroom. For Middle and High School there is no need to sign up for a time as conferences for these are first come, first serve. Please contact the office if you have any further questions about these nights.

3. Fireworks-

On FRIDAY after the homecoming football game we are going to be having a special professional fireworks show on our baseball diamond donated by Pyro Joes from Richmond. This should be an amazing way to cap off homecoming week! We hope all of our Merritt Mustang families will join us and spread the word!

The game begins at 4:30pm, the fireworks should start around 8:00 pm or as soon as it is dark enough to light them off

4. Taste of Merritt-

Come join us for a night of great food and fundraising for the school. RSVP with the attached flier to get a great deal on tickets and a chance to win free dress down days. At the event we will also have a few items to raffle off.

5. Car Pool From Romeo Area

We have a family that is interested in setting up a car pool from the Romeo area. If interested in finding out more information about this please contact Mr. Seiferlein or Ms. Cohrs.

6. TRG Color Run- October 6, 2018

The 2nd annual TRG Schools Awesome Color Run welcomes Merritt Families to come take part in a day of exciting and memorable fun!! Come join us and run, walk, dance, or jog your way through beautiful Belle Isle while raising funds for your school and St. Jude's Hospital. More information and how to register for this event is attached to this e mail blast!

Middle School Dance

When? Saturday, September 29 from 5:30-7:30pm

Where? At Merritt Academy in the Cafeteria

Attire? This is a semi-formal dance. No jeans! Please remember that this is a school activity, so it's important to be mindful of things like length of dress. Please no bare skin showing on the stomach/middriff area.

Cost? $10.00

Where/When can I buy tickets? There are two ways to buy!

1. Prepay tickets will be sold in Mrs. Palmer's class 9/24 - 9/26. Prepay tickets will include pizza and pop while at the dance.

2. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Please note that all tickets purchased at the door will NOT include pizza and pop.

Please remember that students will not be given a hard copy ticket for the dance. The teachers will keep a running list of all students who purchase tickets.

Will there be food? Yes! Pizza and pop will be available for the students who prepay for the dance. Some additional snacks and drinks will also be available for an additional cost for all students who attend the dance.

Why should I attend? The Homecoming Dance, just like all Middle School dances, are a great time! Students have the opportunity to spend time with their friends, make great memories and also see some of their crazy teachers busting out some of their best dance moves.

Guest Passes- Please see Ms. Palmer by Wednesday, September 26th for guest passes. 

High School Dance

When? Saturday, September 29 from 8:00 - 10:30 pm

Where? At Merritt Academy in the Cafeteria

Where/When can I buy tickets? There are two ways to buy!

1. Prepay tickets will be sold at lunch on Thursday September 27th and Friday September 28th (cost $15)

2. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20

Can I bring a guest from another school? Guest passes can be obtained from Ms. Wilson. They must be returned to MS. WILSON by 3:15 on Thursday September 27th 

8. Attention all New, Kindergarten, and 7th Grade Families.

The Macomb County Health Department is now requiring parents of all NEW, KINDERGARTEN, and 7TH grade students to sign a consent form. The form is attached. By signing this form you give permission to Merritt Academy to share immunization information with the Macomb County Health Department.

Please sign and return the attached form to the office by SEPTEMBER 28th. If you have any questions please contact our office manager, Ms. Amy, in the office. 

9. Merritt Parent Incentive Raffle Winners-

The raffle was held last Friday for the families that referred other families to Merritt Academy. The winners are:

1st prize $1,000- Davis Family

2nd prize $750- Wojtoviets Family

3rd Prize $500- Kilcoyne Family

All families will receive their prize in Meijer gift cards! Congratulations and thank you to all the families that referred students to our school!
