1.    State Representative Jeff Yaroch to Visit Merritt!

Merritt Academy is proud to have State Representative Jeff Yaroch visit our 10th grade government students on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 1 pm in the high school gym. Please join us as Rep. Yaroch discusses the importance of the government, the Constitution, and the role of a representative in the state government.  

Good Morning Parents!  Please read through all the information below as it contains information about important events and happenings at Merritt.

1.    Casual Day Buy-Out

 The last day of the each week at Merritt is a casual day.  Students can dress down for $1.00.  However, to make it more convenient we offer a buy-out at the beginning of each school year.  Tomorrow, Friday, September 8th is the last day families can pay $30 per child for these dress down days to cover the whole school year.  The maximum a family with 2 or more children would need to pay is $60.  Please submit your payment to the office or your child's teacher tomorrow and your children will get put on the list where they do not have to pay on these days for the reminder of the school year.

Important Merritt Academy News

  • School hours- School hours are once again from 7:45 to 3:15.    
  • First/Second Grade Split:  We will not be having a first and second grade split.  We will be having two first grade and two second grade classes. 
  • New Notification System- Merritt Academy has a new notification system this year.  Incoming calls will come from the school phone number 586-749-6000.
  • Casual Day Buy-Out- Families can pay $30 per child on or before Friday, September 8th for casual Friday dress downs to cover the whole school year.  The maximum a family with 2 or more children would need to pay is $60.
  • Homecoming Football Game- September 29, 2017 at 4:30 versus Kinde North Huron. Join the Mini-Mustangs Cheerleaders as they join the Varsity Girls cheerleaders.  In addition, our Merritt Academy Mustang Marching Band will be performing their first ever half time show.  The night will be filled with fun filled family activities.
  • Arrival/Dismissal- Please see the attached map to find the drop/off and pick up areas and procedures.   For the K-5 we will be doing indoor classroom dismissals once again.

Good Morning Merritt Parents,

We are getting the school year really rolling here with our staff coming back to Merritt starting tomorrow for seven days of professional development.  A couple important announcements:

1.  ATTENTION High School Students-  Starting Wednesday, August 23rd at noon high school students will be able to preview your schedules and pick your electives at this time.  If you can't make it by Wednesday, August 30th  your electives will be picked for you.

Good Morning Merritt Families,

The last prospective Merritt Academy information and parent tours are tomorrow night, Tuesday, August 15th at 6:00.  This is for families that currently are not enrolled at Merritt.  Please check out the attached parent incentive flier to see all the money our current Merritt Families can save by binging in prospective families. 
 
By word of mouth our current Merritt Families have brought in numerous families this summer.  It's the best advertising we have and they have saved themselves hundreds of dollars in school related services/supplies!!

Greetings!  We hope everyone is having a great summer break!  A couple of reminders/news from the Academy:

1.  Uniform/Paperwork Day-  Is tomorrow, August 3rd from 1:00-7:00.  You will be able to order uniforms (We have a new K-12th grade uniform color available for the 2017-2018 school year, BLACK), fill out important paperwork like:  transportation survey,  September lunch menus, free and reduced lunch applications, latchkey and more.   

**  In order to get the most accurate student count possible BEFORE the first day of school we are asking each Merritt family to contact the school this week if you are unable to attend uniform/paperwork day on August 3rd.  If we do not hear from your family on or
