2. Grandparents' Day
Attached is a flier with information about a Grand Parents Day we are having at Merritt Academy on September 26th. Please call the main office if you have any questions.
3. Choir Being Offered to Middle and High School Students
The second choir meeting has been scheduled for the middle and high school lunch periods on Tuesday, September 24th. We had a great turn out for the first, initial meeting last Tuesday so it looks like these after school choirs are going to be starting rehearsals very soon!
4. Latchkey Workers Needed
Latchkey Caregiver Requirements
· Must have High school diploma or higher education
· CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
· Assist students with homework, create activities for the children and overall supervision
· Participation in staff and training meetings
· Communicating professionally and appropriately with children, parents, and staff members
The afternoon shift for latchkey runs from 3:15-6:00.
$11.00 per hour
5. Power School Information
If you still need PowerSchool log ins to track your child's grades they are available in the office. Just stop by or call and we can get you access to this. Also don't forget you can update all your demographic information yourself such as address, phone numbers, etc.
6. Parent Group Meeting Date Changed
There will be a parent meeting for all preschool through 12th grade parents who are interested in helping Merritt Academy make our three main fall events events bigger and better. We have Tastefest, Fall Festival, and the Scholastic Book Fair coming up in October and November. Most of the funds raised at these events will go towards planning special assemblies and events for our students! If you are interested in being a part of this parent group please attend the meeting that was rescheduled to September 22nd at 5:00 in our cafeteria.
7. Tastefest Vendors Wanted
Do you craft, sell direct sales or own a restaurant??
Merritt Academy is looking to revamp the Taste of Merritt Event this year. The event will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5pm-8pm. We are adding a Vendor Room and currently looking for handmade crafts and direct sales for fill booths at this indoor show. Limited space is available on a first come, first served basis. There is a $20 table rental fee and we will be only taking one direct sales per company.
The Tasting Room will still be open with hopes to bring in multiple restaurants and catering companies. If you know of any restaurant that would like to participate in the tasting room please let us know.
