2. Veteran's Day and World Kindness Day Dress Down
On Monday, November 11th is our Veteran's Day Assembly. In honor of our Veterans we will be holding a patriotic "Dress Up" day fundraiser. For $1.00 your student may dress down with red, white, or, blue and jeans. If your student chooses not to dress up please have them wear either their red or the blue uniform shirt. All funds raised will be donated to the Vietnam Veterans of America. Thank you to all our Veterans for your service!
On Wednesday, November 13th it is World Kindness Day. Did you know there's such a thing as "World Kindness Day?" Many schools recognize this day and this year Merritt is going to follow suit! In a world filled with so much hate, hostility, and anger we think our student body could benefit from throwing some kindness confetti around!
Here are a few important things for you to know about this day.....
- Each classroom teacher is asked to do an activity with their class on Wednesday, November 13th that is centered around kindness.
- Wednesday, November 13th will be a PAID Casual Day to recognize World Kindness Day. All proceeds earned will be donated to the Havenplace a local non profit organization that helps local families and runs many programs that benefit our community.
- Each student will receive a Random Act of Kindness printable to color and a piece of candy to attach it with.
