3. High School Phone Policy Reminder

As you may have heard we have had an increased effort to clean up some slack in our technology/cell phone policy. Please be advised that you will now receive an email after the 2nd and 3rd Violations of the year. These violations DO NOT reset like some of the other behaviors, the phone policy is all year long. Students should not be on their phone or have ear buds showing in the hallway for any reason at all between 7:15am-3:15. The lunchroom is the only place that students can freely use their cell phone during the day, during lunchtime. Teachers may still allow students to use their phone for academic purposes, but students cannot just "use their phone" in class unless teacher permission was granted for a purpose.

Technology Violation Consequence List:

*First Violation--Turned into the office by the teacher and given back by office staff at the end of the day.

*Second Violation-Turned into the office by teacher and parent permission needed to pick up the device.

*Third Violation-Turned into the office by the teacher and parent permission needed to pick up the device & additional restrictions.

*Fourth Violation & Above-Device is taken and parent will need to pick up, 1 day suspension for each violation #4 and above. Restrictions once a student earns a third violation:

-No phone can be out or used at any time between 7:45am-3:15pm anywhere on campus.

-Recommended that the student turn their phone in to Ms Amy before 7:45am each day to avoid any further issues.

-This restriction includes in class privileges like music during work, or any other use.

Students can use headphones on a laptop or partner with a friend, but cannot be in control of a device. Please contact the office with any questions. 586-749-6000
