Parent/teacher Conference Parent Requests Now Being Accepted Middle and High School

Parent/teacher conferences are for online and face to face families and will be spread out across three dates from Wednesday, October 7th to Friday, October 9th. Here is an update of how we are handling conference moving forward:

By now each elementary teacher should have been in communication with each family as to how and when to schedule a conference. If you haven't heard from your child's teacher please reach out to them to schedule a conference.

Middle and High School (6-12)

The teacher requested conferences have been scheduled so now we are opening up to the schedule for parent requested conferences. If you want a conference and did not receive a phone call from the school for a teacher requested conference please call the school and ask for Ms. Lisa. She will go over available days and times with you and schedule a conference with the teachers. Please call (586)749-6000.

** Please only schedule a conference if you have an academic or behavioral concern as navigating conferences for 160 students spread out over three days is quite the on-taking.

If you have questions or concerns please do not wait until these conferences to contact us. Contact your child's teachers now.

½ Day of school Scheduled October 9th

We have added a ½ day of school on Friday, October 9th with a dismissal time of noon. This is being added to our calendar to give our teachers additional time to be able to hold parent/teacher conferences that afternoon. Holding as many conferences as possible will ensure the lines of communication are happening between school and our families. Latchkey will be available from 12:00-6:00 on this day.

Count Day/Free Dress Down October 7th

Count day is Wednesday, October 7th. This is an important day to make sure all online and face to face students are present as this is how we get our funding from the state. Online students please make sure you are filling out the attendance Google form on this day and you are completing your assignments on this day. To motivate and encourage our face to face students to come to school that day it will be a free dress down day for all students.

Picture Day October 8th

Next Thursday, October 8th is the day Merritt Academy has scheduled for our picture day. All students in K-11th grade need to be in their uniforms. Preschoolers can wear whatever the parents want their child's school pictures to be taken in.

*** Seniors we are asking that you dress up as these are the head shots that will be going in the yearbook and in the past when all 12th grade students do this it looks great in the yearbook!

All face to face and virtual students are getting their picture taken on this day. Online students your picture is being taken on the afternoon of the 8th in alphabetical order in the small gym.
